Fashion from the seventies was glam, chic, feminine and luxurious. Fabrics like silk, chiffon and faux-fur gave oomph to flared, high-waist jeans; patterns and colours clashed but somehow worked in harmony and shapes were a mix of lose, long and flowing and short, sexy and fitted.
Seeing as we are talking about an entire decade here, there are obviously several different trends from the period. However, three real ‘look’s are reworked this season; firstly the glam rock movement; secondly, street chic reminiscent of Harlem and LA and thirdly the disco era. Trying to mix all these looks into one simply won’t work, so here are three trends from the seventies for you to draw inspiration from.
Look one: disco diva
Discos in the 1970s were glamorous, full of colour and sex appeal. Fashion was all about dresses. Dresses were generally long and flowing made from chiffon and silk and many incorporated an Oriental pattern. Emerald, blue and purple were key colours and form the backbone of the trend’s reworking this season. Work in some metallic with a skinny belt and some wide-strap platform sandals; add some oversized jewellery and volumised hair and this look is yours.

Look two: city streets
Warehouse totally has this trend nailed. Its ‘Harlem Chic’ look is spot on, with brown leather loafers, navy tights, platform courts, slouchy leather mid-calf boots, faux-fur jackets, shearling gilets, leather belts, oversized floppy hats, vibrant patterns, satchel bags and thigh length floral dresses. This is a relaxed but chic daytime look; its comfy and practical but oozes sass. Warehouse’s range of dresses is perfect and should provide enough inspiration for you to add all the right accessories.
Look three: glam rocker
Glitter, shimmer and more glitter this trend was over the top and proud of it. From eye-catching eye make up to sky-high platforms everything was over stated. When trying to get into the mindset of this trend think of glittery, sequined bodycon dresses, star patterns, metallic jewellery, animal print, clashing colours, velvet, micro-mini shorts and all-in-one playsuits. It’s fun and frivolous but with so much going on it takes a good eye to avoid looking over done.
The trick with this trend is to wear just one or two stand out items, such as a glitter or sequin covered bodycon dress or some metallic skinny jeans and let these do the talking. Keep the other items a bit more low key, but never forget that this trend was meant to look hectic.

Being fashionable does not only pertains with the clothes we wear, make-ups we put on, accessories we mix and match together and the hair style we carry. It is also on how neat we are. Not only with our physical appearance but also on our own place, which we call home. I also consider having a busy schedule. Of course, it really affects our daily routine! That is why this, House cleaning service Rockville MD, is very convenient! This can make our cleaning life easier. We will not be so bothered of going home early just to clean the entire house.

Katy Perry is stunning while wearing her very sexy mini dress with smurfs character on it. It’s a shining silver with yellow and blue on the character. Her short hair is fabulous with those curls. Matching up with her blue stilettos. This dress is what everybody noticed during the red carpet premier of The Smurfs. She just changed the whole perception of a kiddie movie. From a conservative and colorful type of scene, to a sexy and hot mini dress! Katy Perry never stops surprising her fans to a new hit from her! This one is really dazzling! Applause to Miss. Perry.
